As the new principal at Beaver Creek Elementary this year, I look forward to serving our students, their parents, and our community. My faculty, staff, and I are excited about all the changes taking place during the 2010-2011 school year! We have incurred many changes this year: myself as administrator, Elisha Hall-Lewis and Curie Johnson in our Primary, Milena Adams, Amanda Baker, Jared Huff, Renee Waddles, and Triena Bowling in our Middle School and Brandi Hall and Katrina Staggs in Special Education. These teachers were chosen by our SBDM committee because of their love of teaching and dedication to the advancement of our students and our school. Mr. Blake Williams has recently joined our staff to work with Mrs. Stagges and Mrs. Hall in Special Education. Also, added to our lunchroom staff this year is Junlina Hall and Matthew Johnson is working as our new janitor here at Beaver.
The entire Beaver Creek family is dedicated to giving all our students a high quality education in all areas. A great percentage of our staff is new to our school and I am certain they are prepared and excited about working with our students. We have a top-notch faculty. They are aware of the goals we have and what is expected of them. They have high expectations of our students and will not settle for less. Our new motto is "Beavers Are Achievers" ... and we are prepared to ensure that is true for all of our students. Our faculty and staff are anxious to continue the initiatives that were begun last year and are looking forward to implementing the new changes that will occur at our school during this 2010-2011 school year.
We want parents to feel welcome in our school. Parents are vital to the growth and success of their children. We encourage parents to call the school to learn about how they can volunteer here. We value your opinions and hope you will utilize the "Question/Comment" box located in our lobby. The changes we made this year with drop-off/pick-ups in the afternoon have made dismissal much smoother and safer for our students. This has helped us to facilitate a quicker and safer dismissal of our students and cut down tremendously on traffic congestion in the parking lot in the afternoon. We thank you for being so understanding and cooperative of our students' needs.
Here at BCS, a great deal has changed. We have prepared ourselves for success. We vow to work hard, place students as our top priorities and give them the education they deserve. Beavers are Achievers! We look forward to proving it!!!
